The kitchen is from Ikea and the cabinet doors have a shining white surface. The table top is in corian and it was bought in Sweden.
Modern romance
The kitchen is 35 m2 and the house was built in 1906. The cupboards are built by hand and painted with old fashioned paint.
Modernism worthy of preservation
The kitchen is designed by the architect Thorkel Klerk in the early 50ies for his own family. The current owners bought the house in 2004. The design is inspired by the joy of sailing. The consistent use of solid brass handles on doors and cabinet doors, and the mix of several different woods are striking. Mahogany on the floors, doors of teak and the characteristic of ash cabinet wall in one corner of the living room.
